Summary

The work of WG B3.06/TF05 aims to fill the gap between data management, through information strategies, and the link with risk-based decision making. The TB establishes general principles for the information strategy (named the “hourglass model”) for substation level asset management; however, the discussed strategy can also be seen in a broader context. Basically, the “hourglass model” shows that there is a need to link information requirements with data requirements. In order to obtain such a link, it is necessary to have integrated data containing technical, economic, sociological information, and a well-defined enterprise-wide data model.
