Visit cigre.org for more on the world of CIGRE.

CIGRE’s Study Committees focus on 16 key technical areas of power systems. These committees, grouped into categories such as Equipment, Technologies, Systems, and New Materials & IT, guide global research and development. They drive CIGRE’s work by forming over 250 Working Groups at any time, aiming to address strategic issues in power generation, transmission, distribution, and energy management. Each committee has its specific domain, from power transformers and cables to cybersecurity and energy markets.

For more details, visit CIGRE Study Committees.

A CIGRE membership offers a wide and stimulating range of participation, problem solving and skill growth opportunities. Participation can involve formal positions within the global knowledge programme and access to a range of collaborative online tools used by the community:

Registering a member number is not mandatory for authentication, but it will not grant you member status.

eCIGRE offers Collective Members enhanced user management functionality.

Collective Member administrators are now able to manage access to eCIGRE and ELECTRA for individuals and keep track of who is using their collective account from their organisation

Find out more

The term “eCIGRE Collective account” refers to the eCIGRE administrator account for a collective membership number, which is able to manage the rights of users registered on eCIGRE with this same collective membership number.
You can manage the rights of a group of eCIGRE accounts attached to the same collective member number on the Manage my Collective account page.

All functionalities are described on this page.

An administrator can change the status of a user affiliated to this number:

  • Delete his membership rights: this will not delete his eCIGRE account; he will simply no longer be considered a CIGRE member;
  • Make him/her also administrator of the eCIGRE collective account: he/she will therefore also be able to modify the status of other users affiliated to the same number;
  • Transfer administrator rights to him/her: the person who transfers his/her rights to another user will no longer be able to manage the user accounts affiliated to that same number.

  • You must first create an eCIGRE/ELECTRA account if you have not done so before.
  • Register your collective membership number when prompted to do so, or update your membership number in the section My Personal Information of your profile.
  • The administrator of the collective member's eCIGRE account is notified of your membership, and you can browse eCIGRE/ELECTRA as a member.
  • You can check your membership status on the My membership page. On this page, you can also obtain the contact details of the eCIGRE administrator of your collective membership number.

More information on Collective membership user management functionality is available on this page.
