Summary
The Frequency Response Analysis (FRA) is a complementary, method for evaluation of mechanical damage and displacement of power transformer winding parts. The measurement method is described in several standards. The evaluation is made on the basis of the amplitude response representation and requires interpretation of images. This paper deals with improving the measurement set-up as well as the analysis and interpretation. It is demonstrated by examples, how to simplify the measurement method, compress the measured data by means of a polynomial description and to improve the durable use for comparison.
