Summary

Ferromagnetic properties of ferrofluids can be used to improve outputs of electromechanical systems by filling their air gap. With proper application, this technology increases the overall efficiency of the system. This paper presents a ferrofluid enhanced electrically controlled switch. Mathematical model is implemented, static and dynamic characteristics are solved, outputs of classical electrically controlled switch and ferrofluid enhanced switch are compared. Experimental device is built after and numerical results are experimentally verified.
