Summary
A standardized tools have been requested by the high voltage industry to certify comparability between performed tests in different high voltage laboratories and to provide confidence in high voltage and high current testing results. Today digital capture with recording instruments based on sampling technology are used instead of analogue capture systems in electric power laboratories. The test results from the digital measuring instruments can be analysed with software algorithm automatically. The performance of software routines used for the evaluation of waveforms captured by modern digitizers during the measurements can be validated based on procedures of the IEC 61083-4 recommendation. In this regards, the Test Data Generator (TDG) with variable characteristics such as sampling frequency, resolution and noise level is released for digital recorders simulation. Previously, a new analysis software was introduced and investigated in order to analyze AC and DC output signals based on curve fitting methods. The used algorithm can extract the main parameters of the AC and DC signals, such as peak value, rms, total harmonic distortion (THD), peak-to-average ratio (crest factor), damping factor (DF) etc. In this contribution, the proposed analysis software has been utilized to evaluate the output results of measurement instruments and digital recorders. The uncertainty of the test quantities and the goodness of fits for various curve fitting methods have been calculated and analysed based on sensitive parameters such as resolution, noises and sampling frequency. The results of the influence of sensitive parameters for several real cases have been evaluated and their influences have been described and discussed in details. For ensuring the comparability between performed tests in different laboratories with various digital recorders, some comparative factors have been introduced that can be used. Furthermore, the acceptance range of the measured parameter and calculated factors have been discussed in details.
