Summary
Since the investigations of FIELDER, and many others, it is well known that for certain arrangements of air gaps and for certain electric stress, increasing humidity leads to higher values of the breakdown voltage; sometimes however, it is without inflluence and in some other cases it even reduces the breakdown voltage. Many results are available of the amount of this inflluence but only in certain cases they fit well together whilst in other cases they are contradictory.
