Title:
Important Material Properties of RTV Silicone Rubber Insulator Coatings
Silicone RTV coatings have not been classified as original housing materials according to the definitions in IEC/TR 62039. This report is based on a litterature review and defines and discusses the relevant properties of RTV coatings according to the requirements formulated in IEC/TR 62039 for housing materials. Experiments have been conducted to test two important properties, resistance to tracking and erosion and hydrophobicity transfer.
