Summary

Outdoor high voltage insulation is exposed to weather and sun. Insulating materials are affected by weathering; this requires implementing relevant testing. This report compares, through different testing, the two laboratory test procedures being mainly used to simulate weathering (the Xenon arc test and the Fluorescent UV test methods) and proposes to define a reference test with selected test parameters and procedure.
