Summary

Material properties for non-ceramic outdoor insulation. The TB describes test methods and evaluation criteria for the retention of hydrophobicity, i.e. the resistance of polymeric insulating materials to loss of hydrophobicity due to pollution initiated surface discharges, and the hydrophobicity transfer, i.e. the transfer of hydrophobicity from the bulk of the sample material onto artificial pollution layers on the surface. The reproducibility of the test methods has been verified by round robin testing.
