Title:
Local Wind Speed-Up on Overhead Lines for Specific Terrain Features
High winds have often caused severe damages to electric overhead lines. When such high winds appear localised within certain areas, they can often be explained by features of the localtopography. The TB explains vortex shedding behind steep ter-rain and provides a systematic approach to evaluate local windspeeds that may occur on overhead lines in such terrain.
