Summary

Mineral insulating oil in service subjected to heat, electrical stress, consequently deteriorates to a point which renders it no longer suitable for further use. The common practices are to change the oil or reclaim the oil. The reclaimed oil may not pass the requirement of oil oxidation stability test as required. Consequently such oil should be inhibited using commercially available inhibitors. For mineral oil contaminated by PCB, method of PCB destruc-tions and oil decontamination is described in this report.
