Summary

This TB studies the optimization of gas-insulated systems by applying advanced insulation techniques such as dielectric coatings, barrier insulation, electrically nonlinear field control materials, thermo-plastics, functionally graded materials, and polymer nanocomposite materials. The state-of-the-art SF6 gas and solid insulation techniques are introduced, and useful information for the development of compact, reliable gas-insulated systems is presented.
