Summary
This TB describes various examples of how the protection and control schemes previously deployed using wire based philosophies can be implemented using IEC 61850 mechanisms with improved performance, reliability and operational benefits. The Technical Brochure also discusses some of the objectives and organizational decision requirements for successful deployment of IEC 61850 and some of the implications and requirements for operation, test and maintenance.
