Summary
The scope of the questionnaire was to collect and compare worldwide best practices on uprating and/or upgrading works on overhead transmission lines in order to assess the reasons, the design requirements and the results achieved.This TB describes the correlation noticed between actions such as increasing transmission capacity and structural reliability, improving line performance and extending remaining life.The methods and tools for uprating/upgrading are summarized. Finally some didactic cases are provided as well as the remarkable results from the statistical analysis of the results.
