Summary

The technical brochure gives recommendations for testing of DC transition joints between lapped cables and extruded cables up to 500kV. The tests are as far as appliccable based on Cigre reccommendations in TB 496 (Recommendations for Testing DC extruded Cables Systems for Power Transmission at Rated Voltage up to 500 kV), TB 415 (Test Procedures for HV Transition Joints for Rated Voltages 30 kV up to 500 kV) and tests specified for lapped HVDC cables published in Electra No. 189 (Recommendations for tests of power transmission dc cables for rated voltages up to 800 kV).
