Summary
A considerable number of Digital Substation AutomationSystems (DSAS) are already in operation, and utilities worryabout the most efficient, cost effective and safe way of maintaining them during their lifetime. There is a general consensus within the industry that maintenance strategies for DSAS cannot be the same as those employed for conventional SAS and would need to be adapted to meet these specific needs. This is related to the particular characteristics and implemented technologies of DSAS. The TB covers the issues that have to be taken into account.
