High-Frequency Transformer and Reactor Models for Network Studies - Part D: Model interfacing and specifications
Part D – Model specification and interfacing
The reliable and safe operation of the transformer requires that the dielectric stresses imposed by transient overvoltages are kept within acceptable limits. Suitable transformer models for electromagnetic transient (EMT) studies can be of type white-box, black-box, or grey-box. The white-box and black-box models can have alternative formulations, and they comprise of a large number of parameters. The lack of standard model formats is therefore a major obstacle when transferring models between parties. CIGRE JWG A2/C4.52 proposes data formats that could be used for representing the most common model formulations, including pole-residue models and state-space models. Pseudo-codes are provided that permit to generate data files, and simple examples. The developers of EMT programs should enable their program to read from these data formats, to facilitate the use of white-box and black-box models in their program. The JWG also proposes model specifications that a buyer could use when purchasing a transformer. This TB is one of five TBs from the JWG
