Summary

The use of quantified risk analysis and assessment is now becoming mandatory for the management of indirect electric shock risk in some countries. This approach enables asset owners to ensure earthing systems have adequate robustness in performing the functional and safety requirements of the design at the same time as finding a balance between cost, practicality and management of risk.

A quantified risk analysis and assessment process for indirect electric shock risk is described in this brochure and recommendations are made regarding the integration of QRA within the earthing design processes of existing standards.
