Summary

Oxidation stability is an important characteristic and therefore has found a place in all available specifications for unused insulating fluids. The working group D1.30 summarized existing experience with oxidation stability methods and their use for the characterization and evaluation of new insulating fluids, as well as the influence on diagnostic characteristics. A survey among users of insulating fluids has been performed, as well as a round robin test with different fluids and methods. Methods for prolonging the life of oil in service has been reviewed.
