Summary

Working Group A3.12 has investigated the reliability of circuit breaker control systems (conventional and digital) and made recommendations on how to improve their reliability and performance. Six components were found to account for 88% of reported failures. The failure causes of these components have been analyzed and corrective actions identified to improve reliability are presented.
