Summary
Partial Discharges (PD) is a phenomenon which has been known for more than 100 years, which applications developed mainly in the 80s. PD testing for rotating machines has now gained widespread acceptance as a maintenance decision support tool and the purpose of this paper is to be a guidance document on the appropriate use of PD technology,for on-line measurements.
