Summary
The growing size and complexity of power systems generate increasing needs for maintenance and management efforts to optimise investment and renewal costs. On the other hand the rapid development of information technology can provide a new approach to reduce life cycle costs. SC34 has considered these aspects from the point of view of protection and control systems.
