Summary

Surface dielectric barrier discharge (SDBD) has been widely studied and utilized for the advantages of generating plasma more uniformly. However, the researching efforts are mainly focused on optimizing the parameters of the plasma through changing plasma actuators, plasma sources and so on. This paper mainly concentrates on the effect of surface morphology on the discharge properties of surface dielectric barrier discharge. Quartz glasses are rubbed mechanically and as an important quota, the value of Ra is measured as an index of surface roughness. Obtained results show that compared with glasses of other surface roughness, dielectric with Ra=427.1nm gets the lowest initial discharge voltage, the higher average discharge power and the highest electron excitation temperature under the same discharge condition .
