Summary

IEC61850 standard is the basic communication specification of intelligent high-voltage electrical apparatus, and now, some integrated equipments of merging unit and intelligent terminal have been developed in China. But, there are some problems of transient electromagnetic interference when electromagnetic compatibility tests are carried out to these equipments. Based on these problems, this paper focus on the analysis of the characteristics of electrical fast transient burst (EFT), Surge and electrostatic discharge (ESD), and then, the author gives methods to suppress the transient electromagnetic interference produced by the integrated equipments of merging unit and intelligent terminal. On the one side, suppression of the electronic components, such as using capacitor, magnetic bead, transient voltage suppressor (TVS) to improve the alternating current filter circuit and LED filter circuit. On the other side, optimization of the electronic structure of the integrated equipments of merging unit and intelligent terminal, the measures are reasonable layout of PCB, classification of design the ground loop, loop decoupling, etc. At last, this equipment is carried out the ESD, EFT and surge tests again, and pass the IEC61000-4-2, IEC61000-4-4 and IEC61000-4-5. It prove that the measures taken above can suppress the transient electromagnetic interference effectively and can be referenced for those who facing the similar problems.
