Summary

The introduction of large HVDC links into or between power systems gives new properties to the integrated system and has resulted in a greater awareness of the mutual reaction between HVAC and HVDC systems especially in the areas of stability and voltage control. This paper is particularly concerned with the control of ac system voltage although it is considered that the two areas are inter-related.
