Summary

Utilities think that standardization in substation design has many benefits, but in recent years there has been a significant move to introduce innovation. The objective of the TB is to investigate the benefits and drawbacks of both approaches and to provide guidelines by which these two apparently contradictory philosophies could be coordinated in the design of future substations with minimal risk.
