Summary

Increasing the load-flow in existing transmission lines to meet the growth in demand is seen as a valid alternative due to difficulties to build new lines. This increase could not be realized without risk management because the original work was not designed to take into account this aspect: the TB explains in details the risk approach and presents the practical case of joints on conductors.
