Summary

This document deals with various aspects of the problem with copper sulphide in transformer insulation. Possible mechanisms of copper sulphide formation and of failure are discussed, and also the influence of temperature, oxygen content, ageing of the oil, etc. Experiences of mitigation techniques are shared, and recommendations for owners of transformers and reactors are given.
