AbstractsPart I of the paper presents an overview of the design principles from a control and performance viewpoint of the power reactors and nuclear steam supply systems adopted for nuclear power stations by 21 countries. Part II is a compilation and analysis of an international survey of the NSSS by reactor and plant type, control systems and the capability of NSSS to withstand load rejection and continued operation at low load.
