Summary

Power systems are always exposed to some extent to lightning caused disturbances. Unfortunately, lightning protection design and protection devices do not always provide the desired reduction of damage. Sometimes, the reason is that designs are based on lightning data which are not always properly used, since records show that parameters can present different values at different geographical locations.
